Young Histochemist Award
According to the Section VII of the IFSHC By-Laws “Each Member Society is entitled to submit the name of a promising ‘Young Histochemist’ for a grant to participate at the Congress , so long as the person is a student under 40 at the time of the Congress .” Of note, the By-Laws state that “Any Member Society that has not paid all the annual subscriptions since the last Congress will be excluded from receiving a ‘Young Histochemist grant”.
The practice of the past four Congress es was that the nominated young scientists who were below the age of 40 in the year of the Congress were granted by the Federation as follows:
- Financial support for Congress attendance paid at the quote of € 250,00 at the venue site by the IFSHC Treasurer.
- Exemption from the participation fee.
- One night accommodation provided by Congress organizers.
- Obligation to provide an abstract and present 15-20 min-long oral presentation during “Young Histochemist session”.
Therefore, we would kindly ask you to discuss the nominee of your Society and
send the name and affiliation to me and ICHC2025 organizers no later than
May 15, 2025.

Participation Prizes
For the 17th International Congress of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry, which will be held in Rimini from 27 to 30 August 2025 (https://www.istochimica.it/news/17-Congress o-internazionale-di-istochimica-e-citochimica-ichc), in order to support the participation of young researchers, the Italian Society of Histochemistry (SII) announces a selection for the assignment of three participation prizes of € 500,00 each for non-permanent members (master and PhD students, scholarship holders and research fellows) who are up to date with the payment of fees until 2025.
The winners of the selection will have to participate at the 17th International Congress of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry (ICHC 2025) and personally present a scientific contribution in the form of an oral communication or poster. The winners will be able to submit a manuscript of the presented work in the European Journal of Histochemistry with a special fee on publication costs (€ 500,00 for Original Article; € 250,00 for Brief Report or Technical Note).
Participation prizes will be awarded on the basis of the unquestionable
judgment of the Board of the Society, which will consider the following
elements:
- brief curriculum vitae (no more than two pages) with possible list of
publications and a brief description of the main research topics that
highlights the use of histochemical techniques;
- originality and scientific quality of the abstract sent to the Congress

- age of the candidate (young age will be a preferential qualification).

- a copy of a valid identity document
- self-certification of their non-permanent position.

Best Poster Awards
The 17th International Congress of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry will award three best posters presented by early career scientists. Eligible candidates are YS (Young Scientists), meaning master and PhD students, and young postdoc (not more than 4 years after completion of their PhD). The YS should be the first author and attend the conference.
Awards Will be assigned by the Poster Committee based on three criteria:
1. Scientific quality and originality of the poster
2. Capability of the presenter to answer questions by viewers during the
conference
3. Clarity of delivered information and aesthetic appealing of the poster
The presenter of the best poster communication will receive a € 250,00 prize.
The winner of the Best Poster Award will be announced in front of all Congress attendees at the end of the ICHC 2025 in Rimini. The announcement will represent one of the highlights of the closing ceremony.
Robert Feulgen Prize
The Robert Feulgen Prize is awarded annually to an outstanding scientist in the field of histochemistry. This prestigious prize recognizes significant contributions to the development of new histochemical and cytochemical techniques or the application of existing methods to solve important biological or medical problems.

Travel Scholarships For ICHC 2025
